Hey 2d Character Design Group!
"Sometimes, success is simply being able to drink an entire cup of coffee while it's still hot". For us, it's making a game that we can be proud of while drinking many, many cups of coffee.
We are a group of friends and coworkers making a game, and looking for a 2D animator to join the fray! A manipulator of moving images willing to spend some of their free time making our characters come to life as we develop the prototype of our indie project.
We are developing an entirely hand-drawn 2d platform-adventure game, in which you embody an over-caffeinated mercenary slaying colossal demons while embarking on a journey through a world that mixes both sci-fi and fantasy. Through narratively driven levels, fluid combat, and parkour-esque movement, meet characters from all walks of life and learn that no one is ever truly alone when facing challenges life puts in your way.
We plan on releasing this title on the Nintendo Switch, and are going through the process of obtaining approval.
The team is currently composed of:
- Daniele, the artist. He is an illustrator, cartoonist and concept artist deeply inspired by Moebius, Akira Toriyama, and Geof Darrow. You can check out his work on his Instagram (@danieleturturici). Based out of Milan, Italy.
- Eisaku, our talented programmer hailing from Japan and currently working in a AAA studio here in LA.
- Myself, Max, project lead while balancing writing and game design. I am also currently working in the game industry in LA alongside Eisaku.
Throughout the development of the prototype for this game, there is no compensation. We have been working on our own time, after work or during weekends. We work at our own pace, but we get things done. Ultimately, we are looking for the last piece of the puzzle!
Keep in mind, we have been planning a crowd-funding campaign set to start once the prototype is finalized. This crowd-funding would allow us to reach our stretch goals and grow the team as needed. However the four of us would share the game’s revenue.
